Correspondence with the machine: diptychs of video and text.
Transhumanic Letters 1.0. With The Big Sleep (2021), an open-source text-to-image tool based on OpenAI models, I began a creative partnership with the bot, observing how it produced. The images are shown beside the texts that generated them.
Transhumanic Letters 2.0. In 2022 came DALL·E 2 and Midjourney, which I used right after their launch. After a year of proposing sentences, I moved on to long texts; each text generated many images, and the work migrated to video. To avoid interfering with the result, the editing was also done by A.I.
The diptych is born: a vertical monitor with the video, beside a sheet of the same size with the text. Soundtrack: You Don’t Know, by Drexciya, an affectionate nod.
